We had a great time at the Florida Environmental Network, Inc.'s 40th Annual Florida Environmental Summer School! Jake Cremer joined Dan Delisi, Alan Krischer, Darrin Taylor and Commissioner Sean Parks to present "Planning the Future: State Leadership or State Preemption? Legislative Updates & Legal Battles," exploring some of the most significant issues shaping Florida's land use landscape. Key takeaways included: ✔️ The defining story in Florida growth management continues to be the tension between state preemption and local control. ✔️ The Live Local Act remains at the center of that conversation, with additional legislative changes on the horizon. ✔️ The 2027 Legislative Session is expected to set the stage for a broader discussion about rewriting Chapter 163. |
